What you'll be doing
- Answer signal light and bell to determine resident need. Assist resident with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care. Obtain food tray and assist resident with feeding. Assist resident with range of motion exercise, and movement to wheelchair or activity area. Assist resident with turning and positioning in bed. Assist resident with ambulation for short distance in facility. Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rate, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed. Attend interdisciplinary meeting as needed to provide input into selected resident plan of care. Document restorative service provided following facility policies and procedures. Report to charge nurse or designee on progress of progress in achieving restorative goals.
What your background should be
- Six months experience in a long term care environment preferred. Valid certification as a certified nursing assistant in the state of employment. Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations. Solicit patient feedback to understand their need and the need of the community. Advocate for service excellence within the center and influence other to take action. Demonstrate commitment to interpersonal excellence through professional greeting, proper telephone etiquette, common courtesy, a professional attitude and appearance.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
