What you'll be doing
- Assisting with patient care activities and assisting in maintaining a safe patient environment as delegated under the direction and supervision of the professional nursing staff. Performing as a scrub nurse during surgical procedures by donning sterile gown and gloves, setting up and handing sterile supplies and instruments to surgeons or assisting members of the physician team. Working directly with and under the guidance of the surgeon and RN circulator in assuring patient safety, proper care and handling of instruments and supplies and maintenance of aseptic technique. This position may include responsibility for participating in 24/7 staffing to cover patients requiring elective, urgent and emergent or transplant surgery.
What your background should be
- Minimum 3-5 years of working experience required. Previous clinical operating room experience required. Surgical technologist certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
Required Schooling / Training
- Diploma from accredited technical school required.
