Child Care Provider

What you'll be doing: Provide input in planning and preparing developmentally appropriate activities including art, music, and physical activities. Implement activity plans; monitor, observe, and interact with children. Care for the physical needs of children including feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and administering medications. Supervise field trips. Communicate with parents both in oral and written form concerning needs, progress, and behavior of children. Maintain attendance, meal, and activity records. Assure a safe environment. Design bulletin boards and other displays. Assist with food preparation, service and cleanup. Supervise student assistants. Perform custodial duties, and other duties needed or assigned.

What your background should be: Experience with school age children preferred. Some knowledge of normal development of children from six weeks to preschool age. Understanding of the methods used to teach preschool children basic skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and understand written instructions. Ability to work under stress. Ability to analyze problems and create solutions. Detailed work and organizational skills.
