What you'll be doing

The incumbent is responsible for the management of the fee program and act on own initiative and resource. The incumbent is responsible for determining legal documentation from a variety of source including hospital inquiry technical manual, computer linkage to veteran benefit administration, analysis of medical documentation or through personal and telephonic contact. Review military record, noting period of service, type of discharge, and content of veteran claim folder, noting which condition are related service connected and non service connected by the veteran adjudication division. The incumbent is responsible for giving advisory and technical assistance to veteran and personal representative, professional and administrative personnel in private, state and federal health care institution regarding entitlement and guideline for the authorization of treatment at veteran expense. The incumbent perform research and follow inquiry, observation, and examination of fact on complaint and inquiry from physician, hospital, private individual, congressmen, etc. Make recommendation, and assist with the coordination and expedition resolution of problem.

What your background should be

One year of specialized experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of regulation, rule, procedure, and practice. Ability to utilize automated system. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to utilize basic personal computer software.

Required Schooling / Training

A bachelors degree or completion of a full four year course of study in any field.
