What you'll be doing
- This successful position is responsible for supervising hospital based and remote coders, overseeing coding and compliance and training, participating in revenue cycle process improvements and ICD-10 implementation. Provide assistance with data management projects for the organization. The incumbent is also responsible for the day to day coding operations, which include the coordination and timeliness of coding for all inpatient and outpatient records as well as overseeing coding productivity and quality metrics. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
What your background should be
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience preferred in a healthcare or business setting. Five years of health information management experience required. Five years of coding experience preferred. Preferred registered health information technician (RHIT), registered health information administrator (RHIA) or certified coding specialist (CCS). Must have excellent customer service skills, organizational skills and proficiency in multi tasking. Ability to provide guidance to staff and process work error free, within presented deadlines and periods required.
