What you'll be doing

The collector/analyst (CA) will provide collection, archiving and analysis to observations, insights, and lessons in order to resolve and disseminate the required information to the appropriate organizations, units, or personnel in the form of reports, summaries, or briefings. The CA will assist in the coordination of the USSOCOM force management and development (FMD). Lessons learned program for their respective command by managing the lessons learned battle rhythm for their respective command. The CA shall work with a designated government lead for their respective command. Specific tasks may include: Required tasks include collecting, archiving and analyzing observations, insights, and lessons in order to resolve and disseminate the required information to the appropriate organizations, units, or personnel in the form of reports, summaries, or briefings. Perform all related activities required to collect, archive, analyze, resolve, and disseminate information resulting from operations, exercises, and training events addressed by this program and requires the contractor to understand the highly complex DoD culture, to include its policies and processes. Execute active collection to include direct observations, interviews, surveys, and focused collection of government-directed events and then perform the initial analysis of the collected data and provide direct and immediate feedback to unit commanders as required. Perform all updates to required databases for all component commands and TSOCs to contribute information, data, and lessons learned using the required databases of record specific to USSOCOM, services and the joint chiefs of staff IAW current policy, regulations, and operating procedures. Provide oversight of the USSOCOM specific lessons learned database the joint lessons learned information system- special operations.

What your background should be

Minimum of 7 years of experience in special operations (ARSOF, NAVSOF, AFSOF) or experience in a professional military academic setting. Knowledge of staff processes and expert knowledge and ability to facilitate issue resolution at the tactical and programmatic (DOTMLPF, SOFCIDS) levels. Ability to prepare and deliver briefings and reports to senior leadership (general/flag officer level).Extensive knowledge of joint and SOF command structures, doctrine, and TTPs. Strong communication skills, and possess proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software applications.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor of arts or science degree from an accredited institution.
