What you'll be doing

Researches and analyzes competitive compensation practices in the job market; contributes to established compensation surveys and/or develops and implements custom surveys as appropriate. Provides routine, day to day advice and support to human resources regarding the implementation and interpretation of compensation policies, guidelines and procedures. Performs specialized research studies on a range of compensation topics, as specifically assigned; analyzes and interprets data and prepares summary reports. Assists and collaborates, as appropriate, in the planning, coordination, facilitation, administration and reporting of the annual salary review program. Develops and writes job descriptions to accurately describe job content. Analyzes staff positions to determine FLSA classification and salary grade in accordance with compensation and classification plan. Maintains and updates appropriate documentation, compensation databases and the job description web site; partners with HRIS and IT systems analysts regarding problems with programming and data integrity and makes recommendations for system enhancements. Assists in the development, writing, editing and modification of policies, guidelines and procedures, as appropriate. Conducts annual salary surveys and compensation data analysis. Provides support on union compensation issues, including contract negotiations, implementing contracts and yearly changes based on the contracts. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

What your background should be

1 to 2 years of experience in human resources, preferably in compensation or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive knowledge of and experience with Excel. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications. Excellent written, verbal and presentational skills.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
