What you'll be doing
- Independent conducting moderate to complex inspection or survey party. Work for roadway and structure construction process and material to assure compliance with contract agreements, standard, and specification. Review daily dairies, sample cards, asphalt report, NPDES reports, material received forms, survey note, and monthly estimates. Provide support and facilitate supplemental training for inspection staff to ensure NCDOT certifications maintained. Attend all progress meetings. Track testing to ensure minimum sampling is being performed. Assist resident engineer and other assistant resident engineer document findings and to take corrective actions as needed. Clearly and concisely, convey information orally or in writing to individual or groups.
What your background should be
- NCDOT level ii erosion & sediment control certification preferred/previously held: NCDOT concrete NCDOT QMS, roadway NCDOT, conventional density NCDOT, ABC sampling NCDOT, borrow pit sampling. Work involves decision-making and use of judgment. Must be able to stand and walk on uneven surfaces. Valid NC driving license and acceptable driving record required. Must be authorized to work in the US.
