Consumer Credit Underwriter

What you'll be doing
- Analyze information received from credit applications and credit reporting agencies to make prudent credit decisions and recommend counter offers as appropriate. Review financial statements, credit reports and factoring ratios (i.e. debt ratios, loan to value). Analytical ability to make high quality loans within consumer loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed and required documentation for each type of loan. Review and maintain guidelines to stay up to date with internal bank process and procedures. Maintain high quality in execution of underwriting authority; strong working knowledge of loan documentation, contracts, procedure manuals and government/state and banking regulations. Perform other duties as assigned or needed by business.
What your background should be
- The applicant should have 3 to 5 years of consumer lending experience. Must have ability to stay current with the consumer lending environment; ability to work and adapt to a constantly changing environment; ability to handle confidential material in a professional, highly ethical manner and ability to work independently. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills and analytical skills. Demonstrated track record of delivering high quality loans.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma.
