What you'll be doing

Proficiently facilitates patient safety efforts and coaches others in the development of patient safety improvement capabilities with emphasis on process redesign and measurement; provides direction to the department and facility leadership in the planning of a systematic, organization-wide approach to continuous patient safety improvement. Assists with the coordination of the annual analysis and implementation of the systems patient safety plan, analysis and development of the performance improvement plan. Assists leadership in defining key performance indicators and developing measurement tools to evaluate quality improvements; coordinates patient safety culture assessment efforts. Develops strategies for improvement that include considerations for leading practice research and shares implementation results across the system provides education and training on patient safety and performance improvement tools. Participates in and/or coordinates multi facility/business unit and/or system wide projects, initiatives and collaboratives. Consults with and trains teammates to implement monitoring and measurement tools, and data analysis techniques. Identify known or foreseeable hazards and hazardous situations involving work flow processes and procedures. Exhibits critical thinking skills to develop innovative and sustainable improvement solutions for the assigned business unit/specialty area. Performs research-oriented human factors surveillance, evaluation and analysis related to health care improvement.

What your background should be

Rn or other clinical licensure preferred; certification in health care quality, patient safety or related accreditation entity preferred, required within 2 years of employment. 4-6 years experience in healthcare or directly related field and 2-4 years leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of lean concepts preferred. Intermediate to advanced computer skills with demonstration of skill and competence in use of all microsoft office applications preferred. Previous experience or knowledge of tjc preferred. Must have the ability to clearly communicate verbally, in person, and in writing with patients, families/agencies and the health care team. Must possess a strong sense of urgency and make sound decisions within limited time element.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree required. Master degree preferred.
