What you'll be doing

Deliver timely, relevant and accurate communication to internal and external stakeholder in support of the agency strategic goal and serve as a key advisor to leadership and employee on communication issue, strategy and technique. Assist government with the preparation of material for publication and other media internally and externally. Make appropriate recommendation for message and information development, communication method selection and timing of message in support of client need. Interface with internal and external audience to enhance the public affair mission. Build and sustain a network of contact outside and within the government to identify public affair issue, propose effective solution and explain rationale for proposed solution. Support writing and edit communication product, including e-mail, article, social media posting, blog post, news release, speech, talking point, video script and briefing.

What your background should be

7+ years of experience with strategic communications. Experience with writing and editing material, including highly technical and human interest articles in journalistic style, applying. Ability to work with senior government officials under tight deadlines to translate ideas and concepts into professional communication products, including e-mails, articles, social media postings, blog posts, news releases, speeches, talking points, video scripts, briefings and other communication products, as directed. TS or SCI clearance with a polygraph is required. Experience with issues facing the national geospatial. Experience with NGA functions, products and technologies. Experience with DoD, national security and intelligence planning and operations preferred. Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills. Possession of excellent interpersonal skills.

Required Schooling / Training

BA or BS degree in English, communications or journalism.
