What you'll be doing

This position responsibilities include answering phone calls for the team are assigned to, scheduling appointments through epic/michart and outlook, creation of electronic and hard copy files, insurance verification, entering and updating orders, product, pricing, manufacturer information into the computer system, processing of Rx, PM&R delivery and pick-up tickets. The incumbent will provide functional assistance and coordination of assignments with RTS to ensure equipment services are provided in a time frame consistent with department goals. Verify insurance coverage, obtain eligibility and benefit information. Explain coverage and co-pays to the patient or referral sources as appropriate. Obtain and process pricing quotations from various manufacturers. Assist authorization PSA with required documentation for order processing. Coordinate the scheduling of equipment deliveries, pickups and in-home patient equipment set-ups. Obtain appropriate demographic and insurance information from patients or the referral source such as the physician, practice management staff, or outside discharge planners. Return phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Applicant requires having the ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously; excellent interpersonal skills and good working knowledge of computers. Good working knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in working with health care professionals is preferred. Experience in complex rehabilitation technology is desired.

Required Schooling / Training

A high school diploma.
