What you'll be doing

Assign duties to workers. Expedite workflow. Plan daily operation: monitor and rotate stock following company procedures and profitability guidelines. Train employees in store policies, security, sales and record keeping procedures, and job duties. Order merchandise and supplies. Make and hang special price signs. Ensure that all merchandise is correctly priced and displayed. Receive merchandise following established procedures. Ensure that it is properly stored. Maintain the economic quantity of inventory on hand. Respond promptly to customer needs. Attempt to resolve any customer problem. Promote good public relations. Thorough knowledge of dairy department operation and its products. Specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Know opening and closing department procedures. Perform other duties as required.

What your background should be

Must have minimum 6 months of experience in general grocery department duties. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers. Supervisory experience is helpful. S/he should have professional appearance and above average communication skills. This job requires some physical requirements.

Required Schooling / Training

High school degree or equivalent required.
