What you'll be doing

The Director of product marketing is the market expert for product line for each market in which the product plays. This position reports to decision management associate Vice President for strategic marketing and is responsible for developing, implementing and managing to market strategies for the product line with a specific focus on our evolving DEX/Molecular Diagnostics business. Assess markets & competition to drive positioning and support strategic or business planning activities. Establish product positioning & packaging within target markets, work with pricing and product management teams on related pricing strategies. Define, implement and manage promotional activities and product launch strategies across markets to drive new leads and nurture existing leads. Lead sales tools development & training approach to support the sales and account management teams. Bring voice of customer and voice of marketer research into business by helping lead advisory councils, primary research, etc. Lead and develop clear positioning for the solution that resonates with critical market issues and differentiates against competition. Maintain product packaging and recommend changes in packaging as necessary to continue to meet changing market needs and buying patterns. Develop and implement annual product line marketing plans; work with PR to develop and implement effective and targeted public relations & thought leadership strategies. Track client use of the product line and work closely with account management to obtain feedback for user stories, user conference presentations and other promotional opportunities. Develop sales training approach and work with sales, account management and product management to implement.

What your background should be

This position is required minimum 8+ years of marketing experience including 5+ years managerial experience, 10+ years of experience developing or managing healthcare related marketing activities; healthcare consulting experience is an alternative. Candidate must have experience and understanding in marketing strategy development, positioning and program execution. Strong understanding of healthcare market, market trends and solid background in channel marketing. Strong leadership skills including demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal reporting relationships. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytic and decision making skills including the ability to assimilate complex and varied market data into a cohesive case for investing. Ability to drive ideas from concept to completion through superior organizational, project management and team leadership skills. Excellent personal computer skills including outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills. Ability to work independently while providing updates on project status to director and internal clients.

Required Schooling / Training

4-year degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
