Director IT (Development Operation)

What you'll be doing: The client company is currently seeking a director of development operation to manage and support software development teams and customer production environments. The individual is responsible for implementing and managing the tools, processes and cloud environments to automate build, test, deploy and production infrastructure. The incumbent will build the tools and processes to support a continuous delivery framework for on demand self service provisioning and management of data center applications. As a respective development operation director, candidate will lead a team of engineers in the advancement of automation processes that will drive operations and development efficiencies. The candidate is also responsible for building and managing automated infrastructure to ensure the availability and performance of the servers used by internal and external customers. Oversee configuration, build, deployment and release management strategies.

What your background should be: This position required 5+ years of experience with strong leadership and management skills with ability to build highly effective teams. Experience working with and supporting software development efforts and production server environments. Experience with configuration management solutions such as Chef, Juju, Puppet or similar technologies and knowledge in cloud server environments such as amazon web services, EC2, OpenStack or cloud foundry. The applicant must have experience with PaaS and IaaS technologies, knowledge and management experience of Hadoop distributions. Working knowledge with software repository and continuous integration tools such as GitHub and Jenkins, scripted programming language such as Ruby or Python, deep knowledge of automation systems including software deployment and release management processes, ability to create and maintain IT policies and enforce compliance, including security and data privacy policies, understand various technologies and many different platforms including Java, Messaging Systems, Node.js, RDBMS, NoSql etc. The applicant should have experience with documenting procedures, strong communication, interaction and customer service skills with end customers and staff members. Ability to work with architects to implement IT infrastructure solutions, and ability to troubleshoot and resolve internal and customer problems in a timely manner.
