What you'll be doing

Develop, implement, maintain, and grow new and existing sales teams. Directly manage, mentor, and motivate multiple experienced program managers. Negotiate and manage client commitments and expectations. Closely monitor program objectives and provide critical performance feedback. Act as a retail industry subject matter expert as part of team responsible for growing new and existing business. Provide program oversight and direction with a client centric approach. Drive performance of teams to satisfy and exceed program goals and objectives. Constantly evaluate team performance vs. expectations. Develop and implement processes and measures to drive performance. Ensure sales, market and competitive information captured and shared. Work closely with client to provide ongoing market feedback and sales performance data. Provide analysis for ad-hoc executive management reporting. Lead financial and program reviews with client management staff and company.

What your background should be

Applicant with 5 to 7 years of sales management experience (2 to 5 years of director level experience), direct experience with direct, indirect, inside, and outside sales team a plus. Must have a documented track record of success in both sales and sales management in the retail industry. Expertise and in depth knowledge of retail industry. Understanding of the complexities of the supplier/vendor relationship when dealing with medium and large corporations. Proven experience delivering successful results developing, implementing, and managing sales teams and programs. Previous profit & loss responsibility. High tolerance for ambiguity demonstrated in the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, responsibilities, and business needs. Demonstrated leadership, motivational and influencing skills. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills. Willingness to travel nationally as required.

Required Schooling / Training

BS/BA degree preferably in business administration or related field; MBA is a plus.
