What you'll be doing
- The client company is currently seeking for a director of media relations for communications office. Communications office develops and implements media relations strategy, website and print marketing materials, social media efforts, event publicity and branding for the school of law. Educate external and internal constituents including the public, faculty, students, prospective students and alumni about the goals, mission and purpose of the law school, as well as provide information on news and current events. The director of media relations will create and post press releases and written content for the website, produce multimedia and social media content, and edit brochures and other marketing materials. The person in this position will lead the effort in editing and proofreading materials for the website, serve as a point of contact for the media and photographers, manage the daily social media presence for the law school, and instigate and implement improvements to the law school publicity goals and communications strategy.
What your background should be
- Minimum of four years of experience in journalism and editing in a news media environment required. The candidate must have the ability to learn new technologies; excellent written communication skills including experience with news/feature writing and AP style; excellent editing, writing, oral communication and relationship building skills. Operational knowledge of video and audio production equipment, dreamweaver, Photoshop or other web editing tools, and video or audio editing software, e.g., Adobe premiere or audition preferred.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree required; graduate degree in the arts or humanities preferred.
