What you'll be doing

Divisional Director of Development is an executive fund raiser responsible for the total development program, including the management of department staff, establishing and leading fund raising and communications strategies and goals across all fund raising disciplines, including social service programs and all corps and throughout the division to achieve their fund raising, communications, and board development goals. Works to provide and communicate a strong divisional framework of fundraising supports and services for use throughout the division. Ability to articulate the annual strategic development plan. Should demonstrate positive and proactive leadership actions. Proficient understanding of the various professional disciplines of development (direct marketing, database management, corporate fund raising, foundation and government grants, major gifts, planned gifts, campaigns, PR / marketing / social media, board development / management, united ways, special events, etc.) and able to provide strategic direction.

What your background should be

Minimum ten years of progressively responsible, professional fund raising experience across a variety of development areas (e.g. direct mail, major gifts, grants development, planned giving, PR/marketing, campaigns, board engagement). Must have at least two years of major gifts solicitation experience with a documentable record of accomplishment of success. Successful campaign experience is strongly preferred. Valid driving license needed.

Required Schooling / Training

Master degree is required. Major in fund raising, organizational / non-profit management, marketing, public relations, business, or related field of study is advantageous, though not required. Other credentials (AFP CFRE, CAP, etc.) are advantageous.
