What you'll be doing

Coordinate the district program center ecfe site, including daily parent involvement, facility issues and communication with others in building. Supervise and evaluate classroom settings to assure safe, healthy and age appropriate, learning rich environments. Recommend classroom and teacher resources and educational materials that need to be ordered. Address daily staff and parent concerns and questions. Supervise and evaluate designated ECFE site teachers and paraprofessionals. Manage daily staffing and substitute needs. Oversee and process site time off requests and payroll vouchers. Assist in interviewing and hiring of staff. Provide orientation and support for new staff, including collaborating with ATPPS new teacher orientation training. Organize the mentor program for new staff. Assist with planning and conducting in service training for teachers and paraprofessional staff. Provide ongoing mentoring and coaching support for all probationary teachers in developing their instructional practice and ensuring alignment with program curriculum and district expectations. Organize and facilitate data review meetings with teaching staff to analyze data and provide support for differentiated instruction as needed. Collaborate with early childhood special education to support instruction and initiatives that promote high quality inclusive classroom environments. Assist with the coordination of program planning and evaluation. Coordinate all site specific volunteers and student teacher placements. Ensure the implementation and utilization of early childhood and parent education curriculum and assessment across the program. Review lesson plans for early childhood and parent education classes on a regular basis. Utilize research based classroom observation tools to guide professional dialogue with teachers on optimal early childhood learning environments. Assist in planning and facilitating monthly teacher meetings. Plan and facilitate staff site and paraprofessional meetings. Meet with the ECFE or SR advisory council periodically and assist in coordinating council activities. Participate in support team, DMCS and other community education meetings. Collaborate with community education staff and programs. Keep current in ECFE programming, parent education, early childhood education and maintain the required teachers license through workshops, conferences and readings. Facilitate public relations within the school district and community.

What your background should be

Minnesota teaching license in pre kindergarten, early childhood family education or family education. Experience as a certified instructional coach. Experience utilizing research based observational & coaching tools (e.g. TACSEI, ELLCO or CLASS). Teaching experience in an early childhood family education program. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well with birth to pre kindergarten children, families and staff. Excellent understanding of early childhood and parent education curriculum methods and materials. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform computer functions, including the use of email and Microsoft Word. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance. Communicates with students, parents, co workers, supervisors and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
