What you'll be doing

Under the direction of the director of technology, the educational technology coordinator will provide leadership, educational application administration, educational technology staff training and development and support coordination for all educational technology to enhance and supplement student-learning opportunities. Assist in the development and implementation of program goals and technology planning. Assist classroom teachers in diagnosing educational technology strengths and weaknesses through interim assessments. Assist in the development of evaluation instruments as it relates to technology integration and utilization by staff. Assist classroom teachers with identifying appropriate educational technology learning interventions for students. Conduct staff trainings through group, one-on-one, video teleconferencing and on-site visitations. Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities. Collaborate with site administrators, program personnel, students and parents to enhance district educational technology programs. Develop online tutorials for LYSD specific educational technology applications and services. Maintain healthy and positive work environment. Perform related duties as assigned by the director of technology or superintendent/designee.

What your background should be

State of Alaska Professional Teacher Certificate (formerly Type A) required; Type B Administrative Certificate preferred. Applicant must obtain background clearance through the Alaska Department of Public Safety. Applicant must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in all education related applications, software, systems and hardware specific to the LYSD technical implementation model. Applicant must possess technical skill sets with an aptitude toward staff development and training. The ideal candidate must demonstrate an enthusiastic passion for educational technology leadership. Must have above average communication skills and the ability to work well with and lead others, as needed. Must be willing and able to regularly travel in small aircraft and overnight in school settings and be willing to perform essential functions, knowledge, and abilities outlined below.

Required Schooling / Training

Must possess master degree in educationally-related field (Educational/Technology/Administration/Leadership preferred).
