What you'll be doing
- Under general supervision, monitors, controls, inspects, contains or removes hazardous material (biological, chemical, radioactive or other). Provide support to ensure compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations. Perform surveys and routine safety inspections in the areas of biosafety, chemical safety, radiation safety or industrial hygiene. May participate in project management to facilitate laboratory moves and abatement projects, including coordination with vendors, contractors and internal clients. Maintain storage areas, equipment, and personal protective equipment related to EHS programs. Participate in training for program areas. Respond to internal clients regarding chemical, biosafety, radiation safety and industrial hygiene concerns. Maintain records and prepares reports. Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials. Perform related responsibilities as required.
What your background should be
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental engineering, public health, occupational health and safety or other appropriate science related field of study (i.e. chemistry) is required. Professional board certification desired. Strong computer, organizational and communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and as a team. Management or Quality system knowledge a plus.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree.
