What you'll be doing
- The ideal candidate will screen students entering the district with Spanish language backgrounds to assist in determining level of service needs. Create innovative plan and deliver English language development instructional programs for eligible students. Provide differentiate instruction based on student need both academically and linguistically. Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and provide achievement reports. Collaborate with classroom teachers regarding curriculum modifications necessary to meet the needs of second language learners. Maintain accurate records on student growth and progress. Attend staff meetings at building and district level and also serve on district committees as needed. Maintain and improve professional competencies by attending workshops and conferences. Assist in curriculum planning as needed.
What your background should be
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English. Must have high level of performance with organization, flexibility, confidentiality, and collaboration. Educator license (teacher certification).
