What you'll be doing
- This position is responsible to maintain clean environment to include living quarter and maintain vehicles to a mission ready status by checking, restocking and cleaning at the beginning of shift and as directed by leadership. Provide accurate and legible documentation of patient care with attention to detail to accurately reflect assessment and interventions. Reviews charts on a regular basis. Administer medications and IV solutions safely and correctly. Utilize independent thinking and judgment when immediate contact with medical control is not available via radio or direct consultation. Drive in accordance with MCA policy as well as state and local laws, ensure the safety of all passengers and ensure that seat belts are worn at all times. Operate and maintain all transport equipment. Promote a safe work environment, demonstrate safe work practice and complete safety briefings and annual survival training. Make rapid and appropriate decisions to assure the safety of patients and all others. Maintain flexibility with vehicle assignments including the understanding that vehicle assignments are subject to change from a posted schedule based upon the needs of the department.
What your background should be
- The applicant must have 3 years of experience in pre hospital. ACLS, PALS/PEPP and PHTLS required; instructor experience preferred. Previous Critical Care transport experience preferred. Successful completion of an EMT Paramedic Training Program required. Current NC EMT P Certification required. National registry EMT-P preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA required.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma or general educational development required and associates degree in EMS preferred.
