Engineering Assistant

What you'll be doing: Prepare engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other associated computer software for in house drafting of pipelines and facility projects. Prepare engineering drawings from notes and limited sketches provided by engineers and designers. Use computer aided drafting or design software for design, drafting, 3D modeling and other engineering tasks. Assist with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of proper CAD standards and procedures. Perform reviews of construction plan and specifications for proposed water and sewer pipelines for conformance to WSSC standards and specifications. Assist with investigation, development and design of a variety of large, complex projects with focus on water and wastewater pipelines. Provide coordination and direction to less experienced CAD users.

What your background should be: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, excellent CAD skills, including considerable experience using AutoCAD, knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Ability to read and interpret water and sewer contract drawings. Ability to utilize AutoCAD to develop, layouts, stationing, profiles, labeling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts. 4 years of experience in sub professional engineering work, including design of water and wastewater design of all pipe sizes.
