Engineer (Software Tools Developer)

What you'll be doing: This position will support the development of test automation and data collection/reporting for the global firmware organization. Responsibilities will include troubleshooting, script/tool development, network/system, administration and web development. Reviewing current systems. Presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals. Working closely with analysts, designers and staff. Producing detailed specifications and writing the program codes. Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going live. Spend his/her days analyzing the needs of clients and then designing a system to meet those needs. Set development guidelines for the system for any custom integration or plugging. Work with development teams to adhere to the guidelines. Manage the development for key system wide customizations.

What your background should be: Good operating system skills (preferably Linux and Windows). Experience with Python and/or C/C++ programming. Web development experience. Linux administration skills. Knowledge of Disc Drives, ATA/SATA/AHCI, SAS, and/or USB protocols. Acquaintance of a relational database (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL).

Required Schooling / Training: Bachelor degree in engineering discipline, computer science or math/science.
