What you'll be doing
- Establishes standard and procedures for work of housekeeping staff. Interviews, hires, trains, resolves problem, provides open communication and recommends discipline and termination when appropriate. Inspects and evaluates physical condition of establishment (room quality, cleanliness, facilities) to include VIP rooms, ensuring service standards are met. Submits recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipments and reallocation of spaces; follows up on work orders submitted to engineering department. Investigates new and improved cleaning instruments and methods. Ensures that quality services are rendered in meeting guest needs and that guest relations are enhanced. Compiles and reports accurate status of guest rooms to front office. Enforces standard procedures for the acceptance, security and return of guest lost and found items. Establishes and maintains adequate supplies for efficient operation of department; conducts inventories of linen, supplies and equipment on a monthly basis, ordering and receiving supplies so as to maintain adequate inventory levels. Plans and conducts staff meetings.
What your background should be
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in hotel industry, preferably housekeeping area. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in wring, to respond to guest requests and give direction to co-workers, vendors, contractors; prepare reports. Strong computer skills. Ability to multitask required.
Required Schooling / Training
- Four years college degree preferred.
