What you'll be doing

Coordinates client department and consultants to develop project scope, plan and budget. Prepares project approval packages. Manages project design, enforcing standards, codes, etc. Prepares construction schedule. Prepares requests for proposal (RFP`s), review bids, award contracts. Maintains accurate and complete project files. Monitors and manages project funds to assure completion within budget and schedule. Construction activities include enforcing contract requirements, negotiating change orders, making field decisions for client department`s benefit, inspecting construction areas to verify adherence to specifications and progress, and coordination with public officials and others to ensure compliance with codes, ordinances, statutes and licensing requirements. Adheres to all safety policies, procedures and practices, including the wearing of protective clothing and gear. Consis10tly use tools and equipment correctly on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects or reports safety hazards. Assures Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) and Infection Control requirements are maintained during construction. Models the behaviors embodied in ICARE values. As a member of the FMS department, take responsibility for constructively resolving problems. Participates in open communication and teamwork activities. Delivers on commitments in a high quality and timely fashion. Demonstrates pride in the organization. What your background should be

3 to 5 years of experience are ordinarily required in order to fully acquire the skills and knowledge of construction management, knowledge of construction/ installation methodologies, planning and scheduling processes, contract terms, building codes, financial reporting and monitoring systems. Must have Strong analytical skills to develop and manage construction projects and resolve problems. A high level of interpersonal skills is required to develop relationships with colleagues and clients, gain the cooperation of others, communicate effectively regarding complex information, and negotiate terms and conditions with contractors.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field.
