What you'll be doing

The DCS provides technical advice, planning, design, implementation, construction, commissioning, project management, and strategy to all aspects of infrastructure and facilities required for proper operation of data centers and specialized facilities. She/he will identify problems related to facilities installation, configuration, operations, or performance and have knowledge of the client's availability and performance requirements. The DCS coordinates resources required for the implementation of hardware management requests. The DCS also communicates with the requestor on progress of requests, maintains a high standard of satisfaction from the requestor, performs coordination activities associated with the installation and/or de-installation/disposal of raised floor hardware inventory, performs activities required for hardware & infrastructure changes/maintenance, manages infrastructure related problems to resolution, records raised floor inventory assets, raises change requests in accordance with IBM service management process, maintains/updates data center floor layout using AutoCAD.

What your background should be

The data center specialist should be familiar with distributed, storage and network it equipment technologies. 5-7 years of facility management specialist data center operations & management services experience.
