What you'll be doing
- The financial analyst is responsible for the daily oversight of all research administration and corresponding staff supervision within the department. This position will report to the financial manager for the department, and will work collaboratively with the financial manager to implement best practices to ensure compliance and highest quality grant management. This position is also responsible for assisting the CAO and financial manager with strategic budgeting as it pertain to sponsored research, troubleshooting intricate issues with post award management, serve in an advisory capacity to the financial manager and provide training and daily supervision to post award staff. In addition to a solid background in research administration, demonstrated record of accomplishment and excellence in both staff supervision and successfully develop/implement new processes and best practices.
What your background should be
- This position required seven years of experience in administrative analysis or operations research. Demonstrated understanding of cost transfer principles and technical skills, using PeopleSoft, to process transfer documents. Thorough understanding of a broad range of policy including the university accounting manual, business and finance bulletins, SAS 115 (A21, A113, A110) and other policy/procedural manuals. Thorough understanding of fund accounting, cost accounting standards, cost transfer policy, effort reporting, travel and reimbursement policies. Expert level competence in MS Office applications including word, excel, access, etc. and demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn new systems.
Required Schooling / Training
- MA or MS in Business, Accounting or a related field
