What you'll be doing

The food services assistant is responsible for assisting in efficient food service for patients, employees, visitors, and physicians. Assemble & deliver trays to patients in accordance to policies & procedures for room service. Follow HACCP guidelines for food safety. Prepare food for patients. Maintain a clean & organized working area. Adhere to receiving & storing procedures throughout food service department. Maintain excellent customer skills/communication via phone or in person with patients, staff, & visitors. Constantly thrive to achieve high levels of patient satisfaction. Demonstrate the components of the ICARE values statement (integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence). Demonstrate service pride standards (smile and make eye contact; greet each patient and visitor; seek out patient and visitor contact; displays appropriate body language at all times; take 5 minutes each day to go above and beyond for one patient or visitor; honor diversity; thanks every customer). Follow all safety rules while on the job. Report accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

The candidate with 6 months of experience in food services, healthcare, or hotel setting preferred. S/he may consider 2 years of experience in lieu of education. Food safety certification preferred. Interpersonal skills to exchange factual information with various personnel. Ability to multi-task and work under limited supervision. Good communication skills in English required.

Required Schooling / Training

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
