What you'll be doing

What your background should be

College level training. Coursework or seminar covering statistics or population genetics. Minimum 3-6 years of documented laboratory experience including or concurrently 3 years of forensic human DNA laboratory experience at a ISO/IEC 17025 accredited facility where forensic DNA testing was performed for the identification and evaluation of biological evidence in criminal matters. Successful completion of a qualifying test. Good software and computer skills. Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. May be required to provide testimony in court. Work in an office and laboratory environment. Travel as required including extended field operations as necessary. Must complete health and safety training before commencing laboratory duties.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in biology or a forensic related discipline; degree program must include nine credits in coursework covering: biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology preferred.
