What you'll be doing

Complete specialized psychological testing and assessment of clinical needs of juvenile residents sentenced to the juvenile justice commission. Arrive at DSM IV multi-axial diagnoses with precision and accuracy by the end of psychological testing and the evaluation session. Develop treatment plans. Make clinically based decisions regarding appropriateness for treatment, as well as preferred treatment modality. Assess and make referrals for higher levels of care, as appropriate. Demonstrate competency in psychological testing and in recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of juvenile residents (ages 10 to early 20) and their families.

What your background should be

Trained in psychological testing and measurement. Two years of post-doctorate experience preferable in a correctional or forensic setting. Requires an unrestricted permit to practice psychology in New Jersey (license) by the New Jersey board of psychological examiner. Computer literacy. Valid driving license. Skilled in testing and in providing crisis intervention, group and individual therapies.

Required Schooling / Training

Doctorate degree in psychology.
