What you'll be doing
- The fraud data analyst will report to the director of professional services and will be responsible for investigating cases of fraud involving use of charge cards reported lost or stolen, cash refunds, nonexistent accounts as well as reputational fraud for various industries. S/he is responsible for the creating performance analytic measures and tracks the key metrics of the fraud landscape and utilize multiple analytical methods to provide fraud and chargeback decision insights for the professional services team. Work with professional services team to consult with clients on the most effective deployment of fraud rules strategy for the intercept platform. Design and deploy comprehensive reporting to help identify fraud trends. Develop and deploy fraud transaction screening rules and methodologies in conjunction with the decision science team. Identify opportunities to develop statistical models, segmentation schemes, and data-driven analyses to drive a reduction in fraud and chargeback for clients. Generate account level fraud and chargeback trends and statistics for both internal and external clients on as needed basis.
What your background should be
- Experience in SQL, specifically query writing and data extraction. Scripting experience with Bash, Python, is preferred. The ability to analyze, interpret and communicate fraud threats and trends effectively with external clients, internal departments and stakeholders to deliver highly detailed and technical information with ease. Knowledge in econometric, statistical and machine learning techniques to develop best in class predictive models & segmentation methodology. Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to pro-actively and independently drive results. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal-include expert-level knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
