The Billing Specialist position promotes the proficient processing of claims as well as claim productivity through verifying and entering patients insurance and demographic information into the system of practice management, obtaining precise identification numbers and eligibility info from insurance carriers via telephone or World Wide Web, studying the errors generated from the Internet claims submission. Basic responsibilities and duties of the Full Time Billing Specialist position: - Investigate and handle all the errors that are generated from electronic claims submissions. - Approach providers and communicate with them regarding the verification of the patient and insurance demographic information. - Provide help with researching eligibility of new clients submissions and submission problems. - Initiate exceptional verbal and written correspondence to both external and internal sources in order to verify claim and patient information. - Interface with the representatives of the other department, customers or external providers, as may be required, in order to fix the errors. - Provide back up support in each segment of the Front End Department. - Verify personal information of the patients by means of links to web based sites and hospitals. - Coordinate various activities with the other members of the team in order to guarantee on-time work distribution directly to the outside locations, - Remain updated and knowledgeable on the third party demands and requirements, as well as regulatory guidelines at local, state and federal levels. - Take part in seminars, administrative staff and the other meetings. - Help with the evaluation of the decisions, reports and the results of the department regarding the previously set goals. - Serve as a reliable and skilled member of the Front End Team. Conduct all the duties required to ensure the goals and the projects of the team are successfully accomplished. - Actively identify and resolve problems as well as coordinate resolutions between all the appropriate parties. - Adhere to the Department, AA and HR procedures and policies. - Take ownership of special researches, company projects, investigate data and follow through with accurate and detailed action plans. - Cope with the whole scope of the other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

The Full Time Billing Specialist must have: - Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as maintenance and operating instruction, safety rules, and procedure manuals. - High School Diploma or GED (general education degree) OR from 1 to 3 months of previous related experienced or / and training, OR equivalent combination of professional experience and knowledge within the required industry. - Ability to professionally apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions set in diagram, written or verbal form. - Ability to solve multiple problems including several concrete variables in standardized situations. - Ability to add / subtract two digit numbers as well as divide with 100s and 10s and multiply. Besides, the candidate for the Full Time Billing Specialist position must be able to conduct all the mentioned operations by means of unites of American weight and money measurement, distance and volume.
