- The core purpose of the Full Time Medical Records / Health Information Clerk position is to keep health information systems and resident medical records in accordance with the guidelines of the states as well as according to the privacy procedures and policies established within the facility.
What your background should be
- Education Requirements: - High School Diploma or GED is a must. Previous Experience: - Ability to type 45 words (as minimum) per one minute and make use of dictation tools. The candidate for the Full Time Medical Records / Health Information Clerk position is required to demonstrate working knowledge of physiology and anatomy, medical terminology, health info legal aspects, indexing, coding, etc. - On-the-job training obtained in health information system and medical record procedures. Full Time Medical Records / Health Information Clerk Position Specific Requirements: - Ability to make solid decisions independently when being in a emergency circumstances. - Ability to write, read, understand and fluently speak English. - Awareness of medical terminology is a must. - Ability to handle all assignments with strict responsibility and to tactfully deal with the facility residents, staff members, visitors of the medical centre and the general public. - Ability to work in strict accordance with oral and written instructions. - Ability to harmoniously collaborate with the other staff members. - Ability to reveal brand new methods and principles and demonstrate willingness to fit them into the existing practices. - Proficiency in data retrieval, computers, input / output functions and so on.
Required Schooling / Training
