What you'll be doing
- Fund Accountant is responsible for prepare daily and month end NAV calculations for the various Managed Futures Funds. Including fund financial statements, supporting schedules for fees and accruals. Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and year end regulatory filing process of 10Qs and 10Ks. Prepare year end financial statements and work closely with the funds auditor on the yearend review of such statements. Preparation of month end schedules due to business unit and finance. Work with Investment team by providing trading levels/equity by manager/fund for portfolio decision making. Effort with third party CTAs (Commodity Trading Adviser ) in the monthly fee, trading p&l, carry forward loss and accrual reconciliation. Work with legal, product development team in the updates of the various funds disclosure documents and investment team on the set up of new trading managers and accounts. Update Trailing Fee schedule due to Managed Futures Administration after each month end (work relates to thousands of client accounts and FA comp to hundreds of financial adviser as well as maintenance of the funds accounting system. Preparation of Ad Hoc Reports.
What your background should be
- 1 to 4 years work experience required. Prior work experience with Managed Futures Funds, Hedge Funds, External Reporting and Accrual Accounting is a big plus. Strong analytical and communication skills. Strong Microsoft Excel capability, strong knowledge of Excel formulas (i.e.: VLOOKUP, IF, etc.)
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree with accounting background.
