Housekeeping Supervisor

What you'll be doing: Supervises work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly attractive floors and rooms in different establishments. Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness. Plans work schedule for major tasks. Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies. Issues supplies and equipment to workers. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action. Examines rooms, halls and lobbies to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management. Conducts orientation training of new employees and in-service training of other employees to explain company policies, housekeeping work procedures and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment. Attends training seminars to perfect housekeeping techniques and procedures and enhance supervisory skills. Records data concerning work assignments, personnel actions and time cards and prepares periodic reports. Attends periodic staff meetings with other department heads to discuss company policies and patrons complaints and to make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation. Performs additional duties as required.

What your background should be: Previous housekeeping supervising experience is highly preferred. Prior hard surface (resilient floor) care experience is a plus, but not required. Bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Valid Florida driving license. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. Knowledge of telephone protocol. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop office and field procedures. Ability to prepare and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. This position demands good physical and mental health. The housekeeper supervisor will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule. Must be able to move continuously during work hours. Must be able to lift or carry 50 to 75 pounds.
