What you'll be doing
- Responsible for curriculum design, instruction and student assessment. Articulating curricular standards aligned with state guidelines. Creating a classroom environment structured around scholarship where students are authentically engaged and curious. Continually gathering and using data to inform instruction. Designing and implementing differentiated curriculum aligned with school standards. Teaching 3 to 5 classes per day. Collaborating with co teachers and other specialists to deliver instruction to meet the individual needs of students. Assuming daily tutoring responsibilities. Assuming Saturday teaching responsibilities if desired.Mentoring 8 to15 students, through bi weekly or daily advisory meetings. Communicating weekly with students, families and school administrators around academic and behavioral concerns. Attending occasional after school events such as school dances, pot luck dinners and student performances. Frequently communicating the school mission to children and families. Actively engaging in one learning; seeking and acting on feedback regularly. Actively pursuing professional development, inside and outside of the school.
What your background should be
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor degree preferred
