Instructional Aide, Science

What you'll be doing: Assisting the science teacher in preparing lesson materials for example: cleaning and organizing materials for each group; retrieving materials from storage and putting them away when finished; ensuring that there are enough materials for all students and that materials are easily accessible to them. Working with small groups of students (3-4) to help them conduct and remain focused on experiments and tasks. Making copies, collating, etc. Creating documents, posters and fliers. Performing all other duties as assigned by management.

What your background should be: A strong interest in science. Ability to comfortably handle living organisms (e.g., worms, snails, beetles, etc.). Excellent organizational skills. Ability to write or print neatly and legibly. Thorough proficiency with computers or iPads, including ability to sync iPads with laptops, download or delete apps and use. Pages or Photoshop to create documents, etc. Patience in addition, it would be helpful if the candidate is able to lift or assist in lifting boxes, tanks, etc. is able to change fish-tank filters.
