What you'll be doing

The insurance customer service representative will process new and enforce business and endorsements for all line of insurance accurately and in a timely manner. The candidate will answer incoming telephone inquiries in a professional, accurate, and comprehensive manner in accordance with five diamond standards. Respond to basic coverage questions from insured and agents. Prepare certificates, billing breakdowns, correspondence, and proposals. Assist producers by obtaining additional information requested by insured/companies. S/he will review policy cover-ages, and endorsements on all new and renewal business for accuracy. Keep updated on new cover-ages, products, and underwriting rules. Develop lead information for auto, homeowner, and life insurance. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, insurance company personnel, and agency employees. Abide by the company rules and regulations as set forth in the employee handbook and follow office procedures, manuals, and memos. Perform other duties as requested by management.

What your background should be

The incumbent should have knowledge of all lines of insurance sold by the agency. S/he should be highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starting. The candidate should have clear verbal and written communication skills; good phone technique, strong analytical and decision-making skills and typing and pc skills. Must possess a property & casualty producer license and be willing to obtain a life and health license within 9 months of employment. S/he should be able to work independently and willing to obtain colorado insurance producers license. Required to work saturdays and some late schedules. Completion of in-house training program and/or possess experience with the insurance companies the agency writes for.
