What you'll be doing

Administration of the intramural sport and the sport club program, including league and tournament schedule, hire and train of official, marketing, player discipline and hire and schedule student support staff. Supervision of the sport club president to ensure the compliance of all registered student organization and campus recreation policy in regard to paperwork, schedule, travel etc. Development of new intramural sport program, with responsibility that include: create game rule, identify equipment need, organize league and train new staff. Develop and implement risk management strategy for the intramural sport and sport club program.

What your background should be

Two years of experience in the promotion, design, development and administration of recreational programs. Minimum two years experience working in a campus/collegiate recreation setting preferred. Current certification/licensure from a nationally recognized professional organization, requiring continuing education and/or ongoing documentation of proficiency in specialty area required of position such as certified pool operator, first aid instructor, lifeguard certification, CPR, AED, personal training, the group fitness instructor certification from the American council on exercise (ACE) or the personal trainer certification from the Aerobics and fitness association of America (AFAA) or similar license/certification etc. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership and management skills, plus sports officiating experience; knowledge of sports rules, tournament scheduling, risk management, field/court maintenance, conflict resolution, budgeting and marketing; ability to train officials in various team sports rules and mechanics; excellent written and oral communication skills; extensive computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet and database experience as well as experience with intramural scheduling software; ability to perform multiple tasks.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree in a field relevant to the position (e.g., kinesiology, physical education or closely related field).
