IT Security Architect

What you'll be doing: The company is currently hiring for a contract IT security architect. You will be responsible for improving the overall security architecture of the organization, with specific focus on strategic initiatives and IT security operations with a focus on the Cisco and Windows active directory environment. You will also be responsible for security standards and techniques for network and applications for this major organization. Perform security architecture reviews and assess current security landscape. Translate business and technical requirements into extensible, scalable, and maintainable security solutions. Manage implementation of strategy to assure adequate protection of organization network. Assist in management and enforcement of security policies. Architect and manage implementations of all matters relating to security of networks and Windows environment. Work with internal teams and vendors to assure security events are analyzed and incidents detected. Oversee network penetration testing to validate integrity of network controls.

What your background should be: You must have a minimum six to eight years experience in this or similar role and have experience with infrastructure network security. Comprehensive knowledge of network security and protocols (TCP/IP, VOIP/IPSEC/VPN) with ability to operate network security tools. Detailed understanding of network infrastructure security. In-depth knowledge of firewalls Cisco highly preferred. Understanding of security assessment methodologies and technical knowledge of tools for assessment of security risks. Strong information security background.
