What you'll be doing
- Company is seeking an information technology (IT) disaster recovery (DR) and continuity of operations (COOP) manager. This position is completely responsible and accountable for managing contract resources to perform all the DR/COOP tasks and requirements on this Information technology (IT) operations and maintenance (O&M) contract. Responsibilities for this position are to define, develop and maintain the agency system contingency plan that includes preparedness information and procedures for information technology (IT) systems, equipment and resources. Analyze new business needs to identify new DR/COOP requirements and the impact to the system contingency plan. Update the agency COOP plan as changes are identifies. As new systems are identifies, meet with business users to discuss the DR/COOP requirements of the application and criticality to users. Develop and maintain a COOP exercise plan that be utilized to perform semiannual COOP exercises. Develop and submit a disaster recovery requirements document that includes roles and responsibilities, backup and restoration plans, escalation plans and decision points; disaster recovery procedures in a checklist format; and DR contact list and call tree. Serve as a technical point of contact during a disaster that affects the agency IT environment. Upon notification of a disaster, coordinate with pre-determined identified personnel.
What your background should be
- The successful candidate must have experience planning and managing the backup and recovery of federal government IT systems in COOP and disaster scenarios. Eight years of related DR/COOP experience. Ability to create and lead DR exercises and actual recovery from real disasters. All candidates for consideration must be able to obtain a US public trust clearance. Must possess knowledge and have experience with federal government IT infrastructures, including networks, servers, and databases and failover and recovery best practices for IT systems. Should be familiar with NIST 800-34. Must have an understanding of federal government COOP policies and procedures. Must have strong customer relationship management skills, and the ability to lead and facilitate. Must be comfortable with MS Office including MS project, visio, and access. Must have experience with SharePoint. certified business continuity professional (CBCP) and/or member of business continuity institute (MBCI), project management experience, SEI-CMMI or equivalent process improvement experience.
