What you'll be doing

The most successful candidate for the Jr Systems Engineer position will become a part of the Systems Engineering team in support of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Firebird Infrastructure Technology Services (FITS) program. The basic responsibilities of this role include: - Perform and document requirements and concept analysis in support of system upgrades. - Handle engineering analyses and studies. - Develop new technical specifications as well as give modifications to all existing technical specifications. - Develop systems documentation to be used in the process of enterprise systems deployment. - Plan, conduct and participate in the reviews of requirements. - Develop reviews of draft documentation for technical content and compliance with the standards of engineering. - Assess and recommend the accurate application of all new products and technologies for the enterprise improvement. - Conduct evaluation of the company software and hardware products for the enterprise deployment. - Develop planning and provide support for the enterprise systems deployment. - Perform review of the enhancement and change of the requests in order to determine system impacts, feasibility and time estimates needed to implement requests. - Make an analysis of system requirements, proposing effective and the most efficient technical and business alternatives.

What your background should be

The Jr Systems Engineer we offer requires the following qualifications and knowledge: - From three years of prior experience in Information Technologies environment including experience in software / hardware troubleshooting. - Bachelors Degree in any related technical field + directly related professional experience may be a good substitution for the education. - Knowledge of scripting and command line tools (PowerShell, VBScript). - Previous experience with Active Directory, Windows 7, Windows 2008/2012 server + some prior experience with Virtual Environments.
