Junior Network Technician

What you'll be doing: Understand the issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure, including network connectivity, internet access, email, etc. Assist in installation, administration, testing and upgrading of networks, associated software, routers, switches, cabling, and other related network components/equipment in accordance with published standards. Manage the daily activities of local and wide area network systems, perform diagnostics, schedule preventative maintenance ensuring network systems are operational, and report systems faults to the issue track system. Assist with the administration and maintenance of the cisco call manager, including the unity voice mail system. Assist with the creation of new hire telephone and voicemail extensions, routing extensions to appropriate locations and updating information as it changes. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be: Two to five years of experience. Technical troubleshooting knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure. Experience dealing with and troubleshooting telecomm circuit issues (POP, T1, MPLS, VoIP, etc.). Knowledge of standard network monitoring practices and tools. Cisco networking experience including Cisco routers and switches preferred. CCNA certification preferred.
