What you'll be doing

The kindergarten teacher will be responsible for implementing differentiated, innovative instruction to a diverse group of student learners. The candidate will work closely and cooperatively with grade level team, including special educators, ESL teachers, coaches, para professionals and early literacy interventionists. S/he will thoughtfully incorporate the core curriculum as expected by the various departments, with a deep commitment to differentiation and best inclusive practices. The applicant will incorporate a variety of assessment strategies including district wide assessments and common formative assessments in order to inform and modify instruction and target intervention and enrichment needs. Additionally, the teacher will work to foster a safe, caring, and active learning community based on principles of the responsive classroom social curriculum. The incumbent will be a partner with families, and include them in the students learning and development. This position will possess a deep respect for the multi-leveled diversity of school community and actively work to ensure that all student identity and culture are part of the classroom curriculum and daily life. This role will be fully committed to continuously learning, improving, reflecting, and collaborating on various teams to ensure that all students achieve at high levels.

What your background should be

The candidate should have experience and practice working with children at the 3 to 5 years old developmental levels. S/he should have knowledge and interest in the above curriculums. The applicant must have Massachusetts early childhood certification. Meet NCLB highly qualified teacher requirements. Citizenship, residency, or work visa in United States required. The incumbent should have an appreciation and awareness for the unique developmental needs of children ranging from junior to senior kindergarten.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred.
