Laundry Worker

What you'll be doing: Operates manual marking machine to identify hospital linens. Classifies and segregates soiled articles into groups according to the various washing requirements. Removes semi-dried large items from hand trucks. Shakes out creases and sorts articles of like types into groups to facilitate feeding through the flat work ironer. Feeds sheets, towels into the flat work ironer. Catches, folds and stacks the articles as they emerge from the ironer. Separates the rough dried textiles by type and folds in accordance with established procedures. Checks for soiled linens and those which require mending. Assists in the immediate hanging of durable press garments after removal from tumble dryer to eliminate wrinkles and facilitate processes.

What your background should be: Ability to do the work of laundry worker without normal supervision. Operation of flatwork ironer and marking machines. Work practices. Technical practices. Ability to interpret instructions and specifications. Knowledge of materials. Dexterity and safety.
