What you'll be doing

As the lead medical support assistant (MSA) has primary duties will include responsibility for administrative support to the professional staff in healthcare delivery in a diversified ambulatory care setting, utilizing working knowledge of all medical center programs and services. The lead medical support assistant will provide orientation to the professional staff on administrative procedures and logistical factors associated with health care delivery. The lead medical support assistant will work collaboratively giving advisory and technical assistance to all applicable medical support assistant staff, veterans and their family members, beneficiaries and other administrative and professional staff throughout the facility pertaining to medical administration service activities. The applicant work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model (i.e. patient aligned care team, or other specialty care setting where the patient aligned care team model is used such as oncology, HIV, SIC, Military sexual trauma, etc.). The individual coordinate with the patient care team (with oversight received from the medical administration supervisor/clinic administrative officer) to review the clinic utilization by using various reports such as: clinic utilization statistical summary, to ensure that the clinic setup is closely monitored to effectively support the needs of the clinic, working closely with clinic matrix and recall set up and make any necessary adjustments; develop and maintain effective communication with the patients, interdisciplinary team, medical centers, and other agencies.

What your background should be

Minimum one year experience in equivalent field is required. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and delegate tasks/responsibilities in order to meet deadlines. Ability to manage staffing requirements, manage priorities and coordinate work in order to complete duties in an accurate and timely manner. Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
