What you'll be doing
- In this position the individual will execute a variety of journey-level confidential, complex legal secretarial and clerical work in support of the City Attorney. Legal Assistant will be responsible for supporting case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review. It is the function of the Legal Assistant to help develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; drafting complaints; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel; generating status reports.
What your background should be
- 2 years of legal office experience
Required Schooling / Training
- Associate's degree
