What you'll be doing

The client company legal department is providing an opportunity for law student to learn how intellectual property law relates to issues raised in healthcare and diagnostics. The intern will be responsible for wide range of intellectual property issues specific to working in-house in a corporate setting, such as preparing and prosecuting patent applications, drafting and reviewing agreements to support R&D, reviewing advertising materials, etc. Intern will assist the legal department with such matters as general administrative tasks, including but not limited to, filing, maintaining/updating electronic databases, and researching various legal topics.

What your background should be

At least one year of law school, preferably two years of law school, and even more preferably some experience with intellectual property law. Intern should be patent bar eligible and be interested in a career in intellectual property. Intern shall possess good social skills and the ability to multi-task and work well with others. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
